If it's not really about tuning or wiring. Then it belongs in here.
Hello all, hope someone with some experience in the area might be able to shed some light on this?
Yesterday I received 4 brand new genuine Bosch EDEV5.1 injectors (hologram intact and I checked the barcodes online).
The very first thing I did was stick them in our injector tester. There is an almost 10% difference between the highest and lowest flow rates. Is this normal? Seems odd to me.
For example, 2min high speed test at 3bar gave the following results:
#1 75cc #2 78cc #3 82cc #4 76cc
Also 1.5min @ 6bar:
#1 74cc #2 78cc #3 82cc #4 76cc
Are my settings wrong on the tester maybe? See attached photo.
They will be going into a MK6 Golf GTI 2.0TSI. The car will be going for tuning soon.
Ultimately does it really matter if it is compensated for it with individual cylinder fuel trims? I was thinking to do some more testing and let the tuner know the percentage difference for each injector?
I am not familiar with that machine, and the displays don't indicate any units. But if your pulse width is only 2ms, you may be operating in the non-linear range of those injectors. What happens if you run shorter tests with longer open times (say 6-8 ms)?
Appreciate the input Dave Ferguson, I'll do that, thank you.
