Hi,
I have an S1 RB25DET with a powerfc (not pro) that uses fuel cut to limit the revs.
I've been looking to use an ignition cut limiter but obviously the powerfc wont do it unless you have the pro version.
Apart from selling my powerfc and buying a new ecu that has ignition cut capabilities the only other thing I can find
is the Bee-R limiter. Now I've read about 100 threads about these limiters and everyone seems to have a different story
about them, I just want a more professional opinion than "it will kill your engine."
thanks in advance.
I've only had one experience with a Bee R limiter and I had no negatives with it. If it's cutting the ignition then it can potentially be damaging to your engine, particularly if you have a valve train that's prone to giving issues (the SR20DE would be an obvious one to watch out for). The RB25 isn't such an issue from my own experience but it also depends how aggressive the limiter action is. The biggest issues with valve train come from retarding timing along with the ignition cut.
