Hello everyone, I have been able to understand the diesel course mostly well, but I would like to speak to Nick Priegnitz and anyone about a few other key details. I have a potential client and I noticed there are some key differences with global B ecm tuning, and I mainly need advice to cover the parts not mentioned in the course.

Does the new or 2024 style L5P diesel use MAF or speed density?

I need a stock file to make my own impressions as well. I have not yet requested one from hptuners support.

If the tune uses MAF for airflow calculations, is it inverse like the gasoline counterparts? Does the frequency go down in Hz as the engine revs up?

Any other good overviews of key differences? Thank you.

Emmanuel,

The 24+ L5P runs a MAF based calibration where airflow is inversely related to MAF frequency. The MAF flow table is available to edit in the calibration once you read a '24+.

The '24 trucks tune very similarly to the their '23 counterparts. Although as you chase maximum power you'll notice some differences in the turbo vane sizing and fuel pressure regulator mapping.

Hope this is helpful,

Nick
