Do you just use 12 power from the batter and chassis ground for the key pad?
Most of the time you would wire the keypad to an ignition switched power source, usually the same circuit that powers the ECU relay, so it only receives power when the ignition is on.
However if the keypad needs to wake up a PDM or control a battery isolator then it may need to be wired to constant 12V instead.
What’s your use case? What sort of things will you be switching from the keypad?
