I’ve been tuning with EfiLive for about a year. I had been thinking about using Hp Tuners since it covers a lot of other models and with the release of the new hardware I thought I would jump in. I’ve got some Classic Duramax trucks tuned with EfiLive. (LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM) A couple have DSP5 switches. All have mild tunes due to being stock trucks with emissions intact.
I’ve seen a lot of vendors selling Hp Tuners switchable tunes for these trucks. I just got my MPVI4 and haven’t had a chance to read any trucks yet, but I’m wondering if it is as simple as choosing a switchable OS in the VCM editor or is this something that is enabled through user defined parameters? Or, is this being done through something like barometer sensor manipulation or fuel temperature like done on the LML?
I’ve scoured the web and haven’t gotten a clear answer. I remembered that I had paid for HP Academy and I thought where better to ask than here.
Thanks!
So after reading a couple trucks it looks like the OS tab is blank. I’m guessing user defined parameters is the way to enable this. I know I have to buy the UDP license and use TunerPro to define everything. Any tips to get me started?
HPT does not support switchable O.S.'s on the classic DMax's Pre-2017 to my knowledge. On LML you may need user defined params. Pre 2011- you'll have no ability to do switchable without EFILive software.

Interesting. I know “Optimal Industries” is offering sotf hptuners tunes. I wonder if they’re fooling the baro sensor or something to switch tunes. That’s hacky if so.
