I was wondering if Nick could tell me how i would be able to get the rom file for my truck through ez lynk and be able to start tuning it myself?
Keith,
EZ Lynk has pretty specific requirements for what kind of files they accept into upload on the technician side. Which brings me to the bigger hurdle, you'll have to get a technician account to get access to the editor side of EZ lynk (which is not comprehensive by anymeans). Last I heard they we being pretty picky about who they allowed a technician account. You'll want to call their support line for more details.
Sorry I can't be of more help,
Nick
Thank you Nick, i currently have a technician account with them and have purchased the tokens for my vehicle and linked with it through the account, but am completely lost on how to get a base file or even the current tune file thats on the truck right now. I am also currently going through the practical diesel tuning course through HPA, if i were to go the HP tuners route could you tell me exactly what i would need as far as hardware and software for a 2011 6.7 Cummins?
I think it would probably be a much smoother process for you to use HPTuners. You'll need an MPVI2 and the necessary credits (along with your laptop). From there you can read the stock file, edit and flash. HPT's datalogger is also a little more tuner friendly than EZ Lynks.
