I am trying to make sure I have the correct CKP and CMP trigger settings. This is for the 2.3 Turbo DISI MZR engine found in the Mazda speed 3 and Mazda speed 6, they are still utilizing the OEM position sensors. The CKP wheel is a 60-2 (two missing teeth) so that's straight forward. The CMP is where I need assistance. I believe, it should be 2+2 since it has two short and two long triggers. Do I need an oscilloscope to tell me the exact triggers and the trigger style?

This is for a secondary ECU to control port injectors via tuner pro rt. Thank you!

The cam pattern is the common "Bosch 140/40" that many modern engines use. The correct settings for your specific ecu to interperet that pattern however will need to come from either its documentation or the manufacturers support rep as there are many different phase sync methods that can be used, and no one here can advise without knowing much about the ecu. It is especially important with a vvt cam as that pattern may move up to 100degs in relation to the crank pattern.
