Hi guys,

Has anybody tuned a killer vtec setup, what changes i have to do on kpro ? Do i need to disable vtec or leave it enable and set it to a higher point than my rev limit or disable it, and tune on the low cam map and change the rpm columns for better resolution?

Hi Victor,

I have not used a Killer vtec setup before, but from what I can see, it is just a set of K20 Vtec cams and then locking the lifters onto the high lobe permanently.

If I was to do this and tune in KPRO, I would raise the VTec shift point higher than the RPM Limit so you only use the low cam spark and fuel maps, this also eliminates the possibility of issues with not having a vtec oil pressure input and if you have map values/vehicle speed issues which is also used to switch onto high cam.

Once tuned on low cam maps, I would copy and paste the maps onto the high cam spark and fuel maps, this way it won't matter if it some how switches onto the other map. You will need to change the axis scaling to ensure they are identical (since high cam start at around 3000rpm)

got it,

Thanks so much Chris.

The double application of the map to prevent further issues should it somehow switch to the vtec map is great to preconsider.
