Hi all

We are having an issue where we are destroying a front wheel in 2 hours of racing. Depending in circuit layout it will be eiter left or right. Basically, if we have a track layout with a lot of right handers, we will wear out the inside of the right hand front wheel and visa versa.

We are running 300 wide slicks on the front with about 3 deg camber 8 deg castor and about 1mm toe out on each wheel.

Any advise on how to get rid of the scrubbing would be great.

Thank you very much.

A lot more detail on the vehicle, and changes to the suspension would help a lot!

Fram the scant info' given, that amount of toe-out WILL tend to contibute to the very issue you're complaining about - any reason you're running that much and don't mention trying zero, or even toe-in?

What do the camber curves look like in roll? If you are rolling 2 degrees, and only losing .5 degree of camber due to the droop, then you are effectively having 4.5 degrees of camber on the inside and that will wear out the tires. If you can't fix the camber curves, consider upping the overall roll stiffness.

Is this rear-wheel drive, or front wheel drive? Are you spinning the inside wheel in the turns?

You might also look into ackerman steering geometry if the turns are particularly tight.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
