Hey guys, I have a quick question regarding checksum correction in WinOLS, and I thought it might make a good thread for others in the future.

I've noticed that when you correct the checksum directly in WinOLS, the final values shown by the software are different from the original, but the file is already corrected and ready to be written — and there’s no issue with the ECU.

I’ve noticed this for a while but never paid much attention since WinOLS shows that the correction was successful. Still, the question came back to my mind and I think it’s great to keep learning how things work under the hood.

That’s all — thanks for taking the time to read this! Cheers!
