00:18 That can be a little tricky in itself to find but a good way of doing this is by dealing with maybe local car clubs, find some guys that are building high performance engines and find who they're using as an engine machinist.
00:30 Getting some referrals in that way is a really good way of finding some good guys to start with.
00:35 But here's one thing that is a really good tip here.
00:39 If your machinist knows that you are going to be checking on their work, if they know that you're going to be checking all of the clearances, all of the tolerances, all of the specifications when you get the parts back from them, generally you'll find that they don't wanna be shown up, so you actually end up getting a better quality result.
00:57 Now of course you do need to be a little bit careful here, as a first time novice engine builder you don't wanna go into an engine machinist that you've never met before and start spouting off about how much you know and how you're gonna be checking up on their work.
01:11 Obviously you need to be a little bit subtle with this.
01:14 But as you build up a bit of a relationship with the engine machinist and they know that you're not a tyre kicker and you're out there trying to do really good quality work, you're going to find that that's gonna help you get the best out of your machinist.
