See how Racetech race seats are made | Factory Tour

Our Nissan 350Z project car has come a long way from the crumpled and crashed wreck we bought some months back. As it made the transformation from trashed and crashed to track ready, we needed some race seats to complete the safety aspects of the build and complement the extensive roll cage. When evaluating our options, it made sense to team up with local manufacturer of world class race seats - Racetech.

Choosing a race seat is one of those areas of race car builds that is often over looked but it can be important not just to the safety of the car but also to the driver’s ability to properly control the car and ‘feel’ what the car is doing - Knowing you’re as safe as possible will also help keep your mum happy…

We headed along to Racetech’s brand new factory in Wellington NZ and took a tour with owner David Black to discuss Racetech’s design philosophy and find out how our new seats were made. Take a look.
