Introduction

00:00 If you've gone through our practical road tuning course so far, you have got a good idea of how everything works and what we need to do.
00:08 We're going to go through a complete worked example now on the Toyota Altezza we used in the course.
00:14 This is going to cover a lot of the same material you've obviously already seen in the course, but it's going to give us the opportunity to go through it in a little more detail and give you a better explanation of exactly what we're doing at each step during the course.
00:29 We've got a couple of bits of equipment here which are quite important to let us do the job of tuning the car.
00:35 First of all we've got the Link G4 KnockBlock which we're using to listen for knocks.
00:40 So we've got a knock sensor mounted on the block, and when we're doing the ignition tuning part of it this is critical so we can clearly distinguish if the engine is detonating.
00:49 That's going to help us with tuning our ignition tables.
00:53 We've got this wired up so that you're going to be able to hear some of the audio from that KnockBlock, and you'll hear what knock sounds like when we do get to that point.
01:03 The other piece of equipment we've got is the Innovate LM-2 wideband sensor.
01:08 We've got this mounted on a nice handy suction cup on the wind screen so it's really easy to see while we're driving down the road.
01:16 This is using a wideband sensor fitted into the exhaust system, and we've also wired the analog voltage output from that to our ECU so we can data log the lambda values as we're driving and look at those later on.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
