I've just started tunning for VE so I've failed over the MAF sensor by setting MAF Frequency Fail High to 0 Hz along the other required settings and set DTC's P101, P102 and P103 to MIL on First Error. Even though I've failed the MAF, it seems like additional fuel is still being added to the VE calculations. The MAF is still connected and taking readings, so is this feeding into the VE EQ Err reading in my logs?
If I completely disconnect the MAF, I can see in the VMS Editor that no data is being read from the MAF including Intake Air Temp which I think is important, but I get a totally different result in my VE EQ Err reading. VE Eq Err is very lean! If I re-connect the MAF while still in Speed Density only mode, VE EQ Err is more rich and closer to Lamda. Is there something I'm doing wrong or some other way to run Speed Density?
