so i have a 2016 wrx dit that has quiet a bit of modds and since cobb now has a bunch of restrictions and you can no longer get access to accesstuner i have bought a pro license from subaruedit and im using a obdx pro vx to do this with. what i wondering is how do i go about starting off tuning my ecu. since its been tuned through the accessport i have to unmarrie it from my car and when i do so it will reset my ecu back to stock. in order to get my first logg ill have to run and drive my car. with all the modds on it isnt running it as a stock ecu potentially damaging to the mototr? how do i work around this? or is it not going to be bad enough to damage anything while i go through this proccess?

When i have replaced an ECU, I usually try to capture as much as possible from the old ECU and it's tuning. Sometimes you can use the old software to view/print the tuning tables (especially useful is the ignition map). Sometimes you just need to log data of the car running the old ECU, if possible use a dyno so you can hit as many cells as possible. Using this data, fill out the tables of your new ECU (or stock tune), and then proceed with tuning.

Perhaps you could buy a second ECU to start with, that way you could plug in the Cobb-tuned version, for driving to the dyno, then swap for your SubaruEdit tuned one for dyno tuning. That would allow you to go back and forth if you need to test the other ECU.

Good luck, it's a challenging project, but working carefully, you should be able to transition to a tune you can control.
