I have been struggling to setup rom raider for my 2010 Subaru STI. I can only log certain parameters for example engine load, AF correction #1, primary wastegate duty cycle, etc. The parameters I am not able to log are CL/OL Fueling*, final fueling base (2-byte)*, feedback knock correction (1-byte)** or 4-byte*.Initially none of these parameters even showed up over OBD2 so I switched the protocol to ssm canbus and then the parameters showed up (but wouldn’t log).I have installed the JRE recommended on the forums and installed the most recent definitions. I attempted to delete rom raider and the JRE and reinstall it but got the same issue. My internal ID is AZ1G702l, and I’m on a Lenovo thinkpad using windows 11 with an open port 2.0Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Brent. I've got an '11 STI that I'm learning how to tune so take my suggestions with a grain of salt. According to Romraider's ECU support list, your ID of AZ1G702I is currently "experimental" and may not have a complete definition file. I experienced the same issue with my '11 STI. I would suggest using the latest complete definition file for the make and model, which in your case is AZ1G701I. Specify that definition file instead of the one you're currently using and see if that works.

Hi Michael, thanks for the response. I installed the definitions in the link below, after installing I pointed RomRaider to the new ECU definitions (the first definition in the link) and then also installed the ECU flash definition (second definition in the link). I tried logging over OBD2 and SSM but still had the same issue. I also tried opening the ROM in Romraider and was told that the definitions don't match.

Below I attached some posts from the Romraider forum and I was wondering if you completed step 7? I skipped this step as I assumed by adding the definition from the Romraider forum I would not need to install these definitions.

post 1:

"Q: Do I need to install EcuFlash if I am just logging with RomRaider?

Yes, installing EcuFlash also installs the drivers for the Tactrix OpenPort cable which are also necessary for logging."

Post 2:

Q: I want to log and/or tune my Subaru with RomRaider. What do I need to do?1. Purchase a Tactrix OpenPort cable HERE.2. Download and install the latest version of Java.3. Download and install the latest RomRaider software.4. Download and install the latest RomRaider ECU definitions. There are two versions. Choose standard units if you wish to tune in imperial units (ex. psi, degrees F, mph, etc.) or metric units for metric units (ex. bar, degrees C, kmh, etc).5. Download and install the latest RomRaider logger definitions. Choose standard or metric units.6. Download and install the latest version of EcuFlash. Note: EcuFlash Windows versions 1.30 and later are only compatible with WinXP and Vista.7. Download and install the latest EcuFlash ECU definitions. Choose standard or metric. Note: these updated definitions are only compatible with EcuFlash versions 1.31 and later. Note: If you are attempting to flash a CANbus ECU, you must use EcuFlash version 1.40 or later (do NOT use older versions).Note: Some of the download links above require you to register to the respective forum in order to download.Supermarket sale, grocery products, and coupons are the content of Vons Ad.

I was also wondering in ECUFlash if you went through any additional steps when setting up the software. Currently all I have done is selected my Vehicle type as shown in the image attached and added the ECU flash definition to the file path as instructed in the link below. I appreciate your help!

I had a long reply typed out but accidently clicked a link and lost everything so apologizes in advance but I'm going to make this quick. ECUFlash has its own definition files, as does RomRaider for its ECU definitions and also its Logger definitions. This is what I'm going to suggest. First, go to the Github repo hosted by one of the developers. https://github.com/TD-D/SubaruDefs/tree/Stable

Click on the ECUFlash folder, click the standard folder (newer), click Impreza STI, and download AZ1G701I. There is a complete (non-experimental) AZ1G702I file but RomRaider Logger does not have a matching definition so I suggest you go with "version 1".

After downloading the ECUFlash definition file, navigate to the RomRaider Logger definitions forum post. https://www.romraider.com/forum/topic1642.html The Github repo also has logger definition files but the forum post is newer. Go to the bottom of the page and download the logger_v370.zip file. Extract the logger_STD_EN_v370.xml file. This file supports AZ1G701I and why I suggest using the matching ECUFlash definition file.

Now you should be able to use ECUFlash for downloading/uploading ROMs and making tuning changes and RomRaider for logging purposes. You do not need to download or use any RomRaider ECU definition files as ECUFlash is the better ECU "tuning" software in my opinion and you need ECUFlash for the downloading/uploading of ROMs anyways so I suggest using it for that and using RomRaider for just logging. Let me know if that works for you or if you have any questions.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
