Toyota 7M-GE tuning issue

would greatly appreciate your help. I am trying to run a toyota 7M-GE with stock distributor using tunerstudio. I managed to start the car however i cannot set the base timing correctly. The timing is erratic and jumps from random numbers one time its at 10 degrees and then jumps to -5 and back to 30 btdc. I am using shielded wires for the NE snd G1 signals. I set up the wheel decoder as follows:

24 multiteeth on cam speed

However i can’t figure out the 1st tooth angle before tdc given that when i increase the number the car seems to retard the timing. If i keep increasing it, the timing jumps to extreme advance like 30-40 degrees btdc

the lost sync counter when the car is running keeps counting.

it is worth to mention that i am using sequential injection.

its been a week and I can’t figure this out. When i dissable the fuel pump and try to set the base timing, the timing light doesn’t light up properly or barely lights up.

I can't help much but the biggest issue i've had with 7M and tuner studio in the past was sync issues like you're saying and that there isn't a good way I've found to adjust the arming threshold of the reluctor sensors so it just keeps counting up at low engine speed and idle and thinks the car is restarting every second. I had to disable a lot of the startup features to get it to run smoothly on the last vehicle as a bandaid. My opinion is get a different more capable ecu.

The thing is this is a customer’s car and this is the ecu he can afford. Tunerstudio is also s capable software however it needs to be dialed in properly. I am hoping someone here with previous experience with the 7m-ge can help dial it in and answer my questions above

I also read that some people wire G1 and G2 signals together with one wire to get cam signal every 180 degrees of cam rotation but i don’t get how this would help or how to even set this up to work
