Hey I was just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice on how I would be able to tune my k24 NA ignition timing without a knock audio device? I have a kprov4 so that can detect a little but I heard an audio device is way better at detecting knock and was just wondering if I should even attempt to tune the ignition timing without a listening device to detect knock. Thank you and God bless

In my opinion, starting with a hondata k pro base map or a verified OTS map is definitely The safest route here. Without a reliable audio knock device, it's highly risky to advance the ignition timing past the base map at WOT (Wide Open Throttle). The OEM knock sensor on the KPro V4 is prone to false knock from engine harmonics at high RPM, meaning it can easily misread or miss actual knock events. Stay safe!.

Alright thank you that’s what I was thinking I would do! So just use a basemap and tune the injectors and fuel map?

Yep that's right! A verified basemap gives you a safe ignition table to work with, but you still need a structured approach to dial in the fuel map safely without a knock device. Here is a solid workflow to get it running smooth and safe:

Injector Setup First: Before touching any fuel tables, make sure your Injector Size and Dead Time (Latency) values in KManager match your exact injectors. If dead time is off, low-load tuning will be a nightmare.

Street tuning: Start with idle and light cruising. Don't touch the ignition timing from the basemap (low load has virtually zero knock risk anyway). Enable log, drive around, and monitor STFT. Adjust the fuel tables until your fuel trims are floating as close to 0% as possible. Once part-throttle is crisp, move to WOT pulls. Again, leave the Basemap Ignition Timing as is for safety. Focus strictly on shaping the fuel map to hit your target NA AFR. A conservative ignition timing drops negligible power, but a high-resolution fuel map makes all the difference in throttle response.

I'm still fairly new to tuning, so my experience is limited—feel free to jump in and correct me if anything looks off!

Awesome thank you for all the help I appreciate it!
