Hi, I'm currently having issues with injectors doesn't want to spray, the fuel pump is good and when starting the fuel is up to fuel rails, I'm working on FS car with a Kawasaki ER-6N engine with OEM injectors and Elite 2500 Haltech ECU, the ground connectors from the injectors is also seemed fine the fuses still good and the crank sensors is fine, but once we check the power supply of the injectors it does not show any numbers in multimeter, is it nothing to do with Crank Angel Sensors as the indicator in the ECU does not read it as the problem. We checked the amount of supply power in the injectors with multimeter but it is not show any power at all although testing while the engine is cranking, until now we not sure why like that. is it any advice for troubleshooting or routing the problems we have? but we sure is it in the electrical harness which causes the issues. Thankyou.

Don't know the engine, but are they ground/earth switched or power switched?

Either way, you're going to just have to work from the battery, through the ECU and on to the injectors if you have aproblem, and fro the ground basck, if also required.

A couple of things to watch for, when troubleshooting the power/ground wiring - there will probably be a 'shut off' if the ECU doesn't get a cranking signal from the crank for more than 2 seconds, or so, and there may be a "G" switch that shuts the ECU down if the bike was dropped, this may be sensitive to the orientation if not bolted/fixed in the correct position.

There should be power being supplied to the injectors from the battery through an ignition switch controlled relay, the ECU DOES NOT provide power to the injectors, it provides a ground path to turn them on.

Hopefully with the installation of the aftermarket ECU, things like tilt sensors have been removed, especially when the engine is being installed into a 4 wheeled vehicle that has the potential to generate high enough lateral acceleration to trigger the tilt sensor.

Sorry, I wasn't clear - that's what I meant by "earth switched" :-)

Re-reading it, could it be that he has one side run to ground, and the other side run to a ground switched ECU? If so, there's no power getting to it, period.

Zaahir, are you running the wiring harness that came with the bike, with an adaptor, or one you've made up to suit the car?

Could there be a simple configuration issue in the s/w?

Hmmm, Haltech refer to injector "drivers", haven't used it, so can't comment other than that usually means a source?

Hi Gord,

That was my read of it as well.

Lots of ECU's will list the injector/Ignition outputs as drivers, even though they are only Low Side (to ground) switching.

Is the issue perhaps simply that the chosen ignition switched source for the injector power is one that's lost during cranking?

Some ignition switch power sources lose power during cranking by design, to shut down non critical items and focus all available power to get the engine running.

Other ignition switched power circuits maintain power during cranking. You'll need ECU, injectors, etc. on a source that retains power while cranking.

Hi.. thankyou for all the answer, it turns out was the ECU configuration that malfunctioned while cranking in cold engine temperatures, once we alter the numbers on that temp configuration everything was normal, thankyou guys for the reply by the way..

I'm glad to hear things are solved!

If I'm understanding correctly, it sounds like the injectors were operating, but the injector on time or perhaps idle air for cold start was not within a range where the engine could start until it received further adjustment.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
