Wiring up knock sensors on a V engine. Couple questions:

1 - Is twisted a pair TXL wire acceptable? Why, so I can color code the wires for each sensor.

2 - Is shielded cable required?

3 - Can Both LH & RH bank sensor wires be combined into a single 4 wire shielded cable when the harness merge?

4 - Better to buy a premade shielded cable or make your own. Shielding seems rather pricey (1/8", 8.5/ ft) and them you need to add the grounding wire.

Best practices would be using a shielded wire pair.

Is it required -- only testing will tell you. If you don't want to create a test harness, then just use the best practices.

I wouldn't expect a problem running both sensors through a combined shielded cable.
