Hi there,

I’m wirirng an ECUMaster ecu to an BMW M50 turbo engine. My question is about the shielded cable from the VR-Sensor, cam position sensor and knock sensor. Do I have to wire the shielded cables to sensor ground or power ground? Of course only at one end of each cable.

Thanks a lot

I usually go to the Power/Chassis ground. However, some ECU vendors recommend the sensor ground, so I would check the ECUMaster documentation, or contact their support with that question to be sure.

ECU Master EMU manual only states that the shielded cable should be connected to ground. Personnaly I connect it to power/chassis ground as well.

Thank you both for the answer, then I will also do so and wire to power/chassis ground

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
