Anyone on here have thoughts on using Tefzel wire for main battery connections? I'm surprised it was never really mentioned in any of the wiring courses. My main fuse block and battery/alternator/starter wires are all relatively close to some exhaust components on my build and I want to give them the best temperature resistance possible. I know its hard to source large sizes, but it looks like 2awg tefzel is available and matches the peak current for my build.
It's usually the cost and availability of the larger gauges of M22759 cable that stops it being used, when you are looking at 120AUD+ per meter, and a typical MOQ of 30m, it becomes expensive to use, especially if the battery is in the opposite end of the vehicle to the engine.
I use it when I can though when there's no reasonable way to get a good 'lay' I tend to use domestically produced welding cable.
