So this may be covered in the wiring practical application but I may have missed it. i am going to go back and rewatch some stuff, but figured id ask away here as well for some insight.
I am going to be using an AMP EFI AXM-120 VR conditioner to add 1 more VR sensor signal to my I/O expansion box (the microsquirt with i/o firmware only has 2 built-in vr conditioners). this signal is for the Wheel speed sensor at the rear diff and will be in the trunk area, and thus i do not want to run a very long shielded cable all the way up to the microsquirt location. i can put the conditioner in the rear of the car and just run the signal wire up to the micro. that being said, obviously we generally terminate the shielded cable to either sensor ground or a dedicated shield drain pin on an ecu, do i have to run a shield drain wire all the way up to the micro or should i terminate the shield to the clean battery ground location in the trunk? if needed to go to the micro, does it have to stay separate most of the way or can it connect via open barrel splice and piggy back with the sensor ground for the surge level switch (also going to the microsquirt)?
