I would like to ask a question. It is an confeusion about the afr and lambda.

So on a car such as an Audi. The units are displayed in Lambda, but when you go and look in the files, you will find a map where it says the Stoic is 14.7:1. (Which in this case our 1 lambda is 14.7:1 for gasoline)

So now I do understand that if you leave it at 14.7:1 and you add let's say E40, now that 14.7:1 won't be valid anymore and has to drop to what ever AFR now.

My confusion is to should I change the stoic? What is the pros and the cons? Last thing I want to do is go lean and hurt the engine. It feels like not changing this is wrong but changing this and your unsure of what you do is also not a good way to do things blind folded.

This concept is the one killing me.

Note there is no flex fuel or sensor.

Just add E85 into the tank until the E40 is reached. (A specific map to when adding Ethanol to the tank)

From what I have experienced, trims are much cleaner changing to true stoich and adjusting trims accordingly. Personally I believe things like this depend on the tuner and more of a preference on what to change directly in. I have one domestic car that has been on e85, non flex fuel, for over 10 years and only by changing that I am using the same "93 octane" tuning with minor adjustments. Fuel swapping is hit or miss as far as e50/e70ish due to mixture constraints but direct e85 to 93 and back are perfectly fine.
