Hello!!

I don't know if this thread have been discussed in previous topics,so excuse me in advance if it is.

We have built an 2JZGTE engine with forged pistons-rods,borg warner s300sx turbo and standalone ECU.

We are facing a problem with the crankshaft and rod bearings and I am wondering If this issue could caused by the oil sump and the oil transfer during hard accelaration.

Is that a common problem for this engines or I have to examine for another reasons?

Have anyone faced common issues with this or another engine?

We use the car only for straight accelaration in drag days, not for cornering

Did you have the ECU configured to log the oil pressure? Which sump were you using? Any oiling mod's? RPM? How hard was it leaving?

Not an engine I'm familiar with, but many seem to have used them with little issue.

How many passes did those bearings see? Might need to check / replace them at frequent intervals. If you're checking them every 10 passes, you can try different oil pressure and clearances to see what works for your engine.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
