Talk about engine building here. New products, tricky questions or showcase your work - If it's engine building related it's welcome here.
Hey Everyone,
This is my first time trying to take apart and rebuilding an engine.
It's also my first time using a Micrometer.
I'm helping my son with his 2007 Mazdaspeed 3, 2.3L engine.
I need help to understand if we have used the Micrometer correctly as our readings are higher than what the Engine Workshop Manual states.
Hopefully the photos I took are clear enough for you all to understand.
If our readings is correct why are the piston size bigger than what the manual said they're to be?
NB: the piston are OEM they have the Mazda logo printed on them.
My next step it to measure the the Piston to Cylinder clearance but need help before I move on. Hopefully the Dial Bore Gauge is easy to use.
I'm not sure as to why the photos are posted jumbled.
