Stainless steel strut braces

I’ve been wanting to fabricate a strut brace, judging by what’s said in the stainless video is it a bad idea to make a strut brace out of stainless? If not what would be the best thing to use?

What is your concern? Use the correct grade SS for your application, and correct filler, and you should be good-to-do... assuming it's a sound design, of course.

I'm guessing this may be a general question about material suited to bracing, in which case mild steel is often used and painted when it's a weld in application, welding to a mild steel chassis. Aluminum is often used for bolt in units, but it's often a boxed extrusion rather than tubing to improve rigidity and strength in the directions load is expected.

Stainless could potentially be used. If welding to mild steel, there are special considerations in mixing dissimilar metals. If bolt in, the dissimilar metal concern isn't relevant. Gord mentioned key items like correct filler, sound design, etc.
