So I would like to know if I need to buy materials, are tubes same as pipes but jus the matter of. Bending equipment I am using is that correct?

Tubes are defined by exact OD (outside diameter) and wall thickness. There are many different shapes of tube as well. Pipes are generally defined by a normal OD ie approximate OD as it is used for fluid transfer so internal volume is the deciding/important factor. That’s my understanding of it anyway. It all depends on what application you are looking to use the material for. If it’s for fluid transfer then pipe will do but if it’s for the likes of a roll cage or other structural components then you will need tubing. I’m by no means an expert on any of this but I’m fairly sure if it’s for a roll cage most regulations require seamless tubing for roll cages. Hope this helped you and if I got anything wrong I hope someone more knowledgeable can correct me.

Pipe and Tube are measured differently, googling pipe vs tube will give you the exact ways with diagrams showing which is which and why. There are also different methods to bend each type of material as well. Bending copper is a lot easier than bending say stainless.

what are you trying to fabricate and what material do you intend on using?

what sort of bending equipment are you looking at?

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
