Welder settings

When setting the flow and amperage in each of the settings: is this for welding with no foot pedal? Or can these settings be used when using a foot pedal?

As I understand it*, if used with a pedal the settings are the max' the machine will supply, with it being proportional to the setting and pedal position.

If not using a pedal it's fixed at those values.

*Almost entirely a stick welder, with a fair bit of oxy-acetylene and MIG - TIG is very limited.

I have a foot pedal and based on all manuals that I read for both my machine and other machines, whatever amperage you set on the machine, with the foot pedal that value will be the max value that amps will go. With no pedal, that value is immediately used.
