Hi,

I was just wondering if there is some more information about working out a correct table of injection firing angle. Obviously it is engine specific, depend on the inlet cam and if it also runs vct. Any additional info would be awesome. Thanks heaps guys, Chris.

I've always found the firing angle by having the engine loaded on the dyno at the point that i am working on and moving the angle around until I found the richest point (whilst also watching the torque output) and then setting the midpoint of the rich area (this normally covers around 30 degrees) as the firing angle. As this covers a wide area, for most engines with VVT systems, this also ensures that the typical sweep range of the cams is also covered.
