good morning. suppose that I am assembling an engine (I have passed this case for example in a Honda K20 and a Toyota 2az) and the recommended clearance for connecting rods is between 0.001 inches and 0.002 inches, I can use 0.0025 inches as in this case of 2Jz ? Does it greatly affect the recommendation? And what is the maximum that can be left in clearance?

The clearances you'll want to use are dependent on the particular engine so for example you can't necessarily take a clearance that is known to work on a 2JZ and apply this to a K20. I always base my clearances on the factory tolerance range initially. If I'm building an engine that's going to make significantly more power than stock I'll tend to be on the looser side of the factory clearance range.
