Hello,

Is it necessary to wire a run/stop switch to a digital input on a Motec M150 or can I simply use the ignition toggle switch on the dash to supply 12V to the battery positive pins? Thanks so much.

You can use the ignition toggle switch to control the power, however it's much nicer if the ECU is powered from the master switch (maybe turn on the dash with that as well), and the Ignition Switch is used as the Run/Stop Switch. This allows you to do things like crank the engine to build oil pressure (with oil pressure sensor connected to the ECU) without it injecting fuel or attempting to start.

If you are not including a Run/Stop Switch, it's important to temporarily configure it, and make sure the default mapping is "ON", then you can set "not in use" and it will defualt to Run instead of Stop (which can be a real head scratchier to debug).

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
