Are solder sleeves preffered over crimps? or is this only used in case of grounding the shield?
It seems a lot quicker and easier. But i always thought it was more of an sloppy hobbyist application. And i heard you guys mention that crimps are preffered over soldering, how is this low temperature solder in a thin heat shrinking sleeve any good? isn't it better to just solder it with a soldering iron and cover it with thick decent heat shrink?
Solder sleeves are good for things that don't crimp well (like braided shielding), and it's a good solution for field splicing for those without good crimping tools.
