Hello writing here to ask about content in the cad section ( I have all of the cad courses havnt seen em all yet. ) Just asking do the videos teach you to reverse engineer scans. I have a wrx air vent which I cannot get the inside scanned with my scanner no matter how hard I try.

does any video teach reverse engineering or remaking the scan in cad using the scan as a reference. Not many useful videos online.

as I want to fully remake the vent to the reprint it and then add onto it after I know it fits. Cannot print as errors inside vent as cannot scan it. And all repair options and other softwares that repair files just fill in the entire thing which I don’t want as it’s an air vent…

Can get any cad if needed as I’m a student if that helps responses

any comment or info much appreciated cheers

Hey Brodie, We have a reverse engineering section in the 3D scanning course that will help you do this.

I'd recommend doing the entire course though as there are other parts of the course that will help you with this project.

You'll be able to do all of it in Fusion by setting up planes on the flat surfaces, using mesh section sketches and then recreating the model - probably mostly with extrudes, sweep and lofts.

Thank you heaps mate means alot.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
