Hi Guys First of all LOVE the content and delivery amazing Stuff thanks!

1. Is it ok to put Individual DR-25 sheathing on all exposed individual wires up to the back of the connectors that don't/can't have Boots? I mean for example the Ignition coil connectors on the Toyota have that last section that can't have a boot and you can't put large DR-25 on all of them because it will stress the Connections and wires if shrunk around them as you warned. But could you put individual sleeves of DR-25 on each wire up to the back? (even go super anal and have a tiny amount of SEL in between the connector pin and individual DR-25 sheathes. Or are the wires fine and its done like that for a reason as that would strain them, or to see the specific wire colors and labels for ease of fault finding etc and this is me just being way too OCD that there's an inch of individual uncovered exposed wires in the engine bay on each sensor on such an already magnificent work of art!

Thanks Danny

HI.

Heat-shrink tubes are used to seal the connector joint to protect it from moisture and dust. As @ZAC mentioned, in some cases it’s impossible to achieve a fully waterproof seal. That’s why people often ditch the OEM connector, solder the wires directly to the sensor or actuator, and then use properly sealed aftermarket connectors afterward.

In the case you’re asking about, there’s no point in adding separate DR-25 tubes. It won’t improve anything— it may even make the situation worse. The rubber seals in the connector are enough.

Either remove the connector, solder the wires directly, and use a properly sealed connector (e.g., Deutsch), or just stick with the factory sealing of the original connector.

Cheers

Thanks!
