So I've heard 3 separate things now and I'm trying to clear this up. Attached are 3 different scenarios of running a shield ground to and through a firewall. Was curious to see what everyone else does. Also, when splicing grounds at the connector, do you guys like to daisy chain the solder sleeves or do an actual barrel splice with the multiple rounds? Daisy chaining seems cleaner and easier to me

Judging by Andres response in this thread your example drawing (top one labelled pm) seems to be what he is advocating. Would make the most sense.

Your top image labeled PM is correct.

Continue your shield though the connector on a separate pin and terminate at the ECU end only.
