Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. I have a 2009 Suzuki Mehran with a semi-built engine. It has been bored out from 796cc-990cc, larger valves, 2-inch exhaust & larger fuel jets. Next alternation is going to be a more powerful ignition coil from a Honda Vezel. However, I have been warned from a well experienced engine builder that I should retard the ignition timing a bit so that I don't end up punching a hole in the piston from the large increase in ignition energy (he told me from his previous experiences). Should this be a concern? If so, how many degrees of timing retard should I introduce in the engine?
