I am having a hard time getting my fuel composition sensor working. Its a dual m142 in a huracan. I have it wired to Dig3 on the master ecu. I followed the M1 flex fuel pdf correctly when setting it up I believe. Sensor is brand new and I checked that my wiring is correct. I'm getting a communication timeout on the diagnostic for the sensor. I am newer to the motec ecu but communication timeout seems odd to me like it looking for a can message or something even though its a physical input. Getting the same diagnostic on the fuel temp channel also. Been working on this for a day and I feel like I must be missing something.
Also I changed the in that screenshot just trying something. It is currently set to absolute but there was no change trying that.
Can't tell from your screenshot but it sounds like you haven't assigned Fuel Composition Sensor Digital Decode Resource, which should be Dig3. With the decode type set to Frequency.
Have you reached out to your MoTeC dealer for help with this?
I have not reached out to the dealer I bought it from. I bought it through a wholesale account and I am pretty sure they don't have anyone there that would be of any help. I do have the digital decode resource set to Dig3 I don't see decode type at all though.
I see decode type if I look at the mass air flow input or the oil level but its not there for the composition sensor.
Be sure you haven't confused DIG3 and UDIG3, those are two separate inputs (UDIG is far more flexible). In M1 Tune, you can use Tools->Capture Inputs to see what the signal looks like if you use a UDIG input. I'm not sure the DIG inputs are suitable for the alcohol sensor, the Flex Fuel setup document shows using a UDIG input.
It is set to Dig3 not Udig. Dig3 and 4 are the only digital inputs that are available in the break out connector on the master or slave. Udig 6 and 7 I could use but they don't go to the breakout. Those are cruise control and low oil psi switch that this model car does not have. The kit says it works with flex fuel though so I assume that a Dig input would work as that is all that's available if the car had the options just mentioned. I assume your talking about tools/show data properties?
Since you aren't using UDIG, the Tools->Capture Inputs... would not be useful to you.
You have Fuel Composition Sensor Calibration set to a pre defined calibration so some parameters aren't exposed. if you change this drop down back to manual all parameters will be visible.
The DIG inputs don't report voltage so the channels within Fuel Composition Sensor Digital Voltage will be blank.
UDIG 3 is populated on both ECUs in the Hurcan kit.
Your MoTeC dealer is abolutely responsible for supporting you and you should be contacting Real Street.
I have attached screenshots of DIG3 working as expected on a SIM3
Thanks for the screenshot. I did end up getting it figured out today. I wasn't willing to accept that a brand new sensor was bad so I tried udig7 sence the car doesn't have criuse control. It made no difference so I put a scope on the output of the sensor and there was nothing. Had a old sensor in the shop that was known good. I figured i was doing something wrong sence everything was new but obviously shouldn't have assumed the sensor was good.
