I have the M150 Toyota 86 package and there are some simple outputs I'd like to control such as:
- 12V exhaust bypass valve (controlled via a driver position switch/rotary switch)
- Relay for water-to-air intercooler pump (always on)
- Relay for turbo oil scavenge pump (always on with an delay-off)
Given these are not functions directly supported by the Build Package I'm wondering do I need a Development Licence or is there a simple way to do this? They are very simple functions (e.g. turn relay on when switch in position x) and I'd like to avoid the cost and complexity of software development and a development ECU if possible.
I could mimic the functionality by directly wiring to ignition sources and using delay relays but given the ECU and the additional outputs are there I'd like to use them.
The Exhaust Bypass Valve controlled by the ECU would be really nice so when I set it to 'track mode' the boost, traction control etc and the exhaust valve all operate together.
I've just received the new version of the FT86 package. It has Auxiliary Output #5 which allows an output on/off based on a driver position switch. All sorted.
