Hello HP Academy,

I'm having problems seeing the crank signal and sync state after installing new cam and crank sensor.I have an AEM Infinity 506 on a 7MGTE engine in a 1988 Supra.I've ditch the stock CPS in favor of independent cam and crank sensors.36-1 crank trigger wheel and 1 tooth(magnet) cam gear, both HALL effect sensors with rising edge.Specs according to Fornariracing who makes the CPS delete kit:Cam offset: 90 degrees ATDCCrank offset: 60 degrees BTDC

First it's not clear in the AEM documentation but does the Infinity have internal pull-up resistors for the HALL sensors input ?Seems to have it in the analog and digital inputs

My problems:Don’t see any movements in the values of the crank sensor. No crank duration, no crank angle, no crank per cam, no RPM, no sync...Cam sensor has values, but not sure if it’s ok.

My log and session files:[url=https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uUDu1OPe8DoCK88FlX-boRqVN73FbQ7p/view?usp=sharing]https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uUDu1OPe8DoCK88FlX-boRqVN73FbQ7p/view?usp=sharinghttps://drive.google.com/file/d/13ifw5uX13Ol3OUiHgKqJ148i5JTIVmRT/view?usp=sharing

I'm getting EAL_TimingError: 4, (which mean Cam0_SyncError0 ; For missing-1 or missing-2 patterns, extra edge within the same 'missing crank' window) doesn't make sense since I don't see any crank signal

I've change all the settings that I'm aware of:-Universal 36-1 Hall crank (Rising) 1 Hall Cam (Rising)-Noise cancellation : 10 for cam and crank-Crank missing tooth ration, CrkMissThr and CrkExtraThr = 1.5 everywhere-Trigger offset : 0, According to the Ignition Sync tab in the Wizard, based on the cam/Crank trigger pattern selected, the value for trigger offset must be less then 10.-Camsync adjust: 0-Pick sensor delay : 100msIs there any other settings to change ?Should I enter the Cam and Crank offset somewhere ?

I've tested all the wiring ( signal, 12V, ground all ok), also have 12V at sensor when key on and while cranking.Bench tested the crank sensor without a pull up resistor: 0.55V and moves to zero Volt when it detect metal, should be OK.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing the right settings or there's a problem with the ECU input.

Your help would be appreciated.

Fred

Found the issue:

First: Found the problem, the guy who sold me the sensor kit, didn't told me until that he used a Littlefuse 55075 as a substitute for the crank sensor for one batch of 10.

That sensor have the signal and ground wire colors switched comparing to his instruction and the cam sensor in his kit.So when testing it with a multimeter I saw the sensor working even though the polarity was opposite, but the ECU was seeing the ground pin instead of the signal.

Got the engine running fine until it got to operating temp then started to loose sync because of erratic crank sensor values. So that crank sensor is bad. Ended up putting back the stock CPS and re-wired it in. Runs fine again so I could make the road trip for my vacation. The guy will send me a crank sensor that he normally used without issues so I shouldn't have a problem with this one.

For the Infinity internal pull-up resistor, the answer would be yes.
